In the Community...

As a 'Social Enterprise' work within the community is key to what we do here at 'Human Compass'.

~

We are always keen to become involved with community activities - wether it be running workshops, storytelling, directing a community production, or staging a community arts festival!

~

COW Fest

In 2009, Driffield we aim to stage an arts festival.

It will begin small, but grow - like the acorn - in to the great oak!

~

It is our hope that it will bring, not only the artists of the driffield area together, but the entire community as a whole.

~

The title is Capital of the Wolds Arts Festival (or COW Fest for short)!

We have a comittee who are made up of local artists, musicians and performers. We meet regularly to move the project forward and plan the events.

Script Circle!

Script Circle isn't an 'arty farty' event. It's a chance for anyone from throughout the community of Driffield (and sometimes further afield) to come together to read plays, have a drink, some food and have a chat!

We're always looking for people to join us.

You don't have to read aloud, you're more than welcome to sit and listen. 

Got a script you hven't seen in years? Let us know and we'' put it in the schedule!

The scripts will come from a variety of sources - new writing and traditional material. If you'd like to select a script or to join in the next group please E-mail us here!

 

Theatre...

We are a Theatre and Media Company.  The theatre work we produce is very important to us.

We have far ranging theatrical tastes which cumlinate in to exciting productions.

Being based in rural East Yorkshire isn't easy for a theatre company - so when you see our posters please come along and encourage your family and frineds to do the same!

A short series of 2 handed storytelling productions at Pocklington Arts Centre!

Rep Theatre....

We're currently seeking funding for a series of 3 1 act plays performed on a rural tour in a rep style - 1 performed as another is rehearsed!

We produce work in a variety of media - Film, Radio / Vocal Recording.

Our work is based in both fact and fiction.

We create media work for fun, festivals, and for charities, social enterprises, or businesses.

Driffield School...

We're working with Driffield School to create a series of four films for their website and for distribution to the year six classes around the Driffield area.

~

We were asked to work with a selection of year seven students to create these films.

~

Shakespeare Shorts...

We are currently seeking funding for a series of short films based on the plays of Shakespeare, with the inention of introducing Shakespeare to young people in a short blast - explaining the story in a simplified, funm understandable manner.
