Human Compass is a 'Not-For-Profit', 'Social Enterprise' based in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
So...What is a Social Enterprise?
A Social Enterprise is a business which has social Aims and objectives, on top of those of a 'normal' business.
In our case we aim to -
1.)Use theatre and media to bring communities together.
2.)To use theatre and media as a catalyst to make people think about themselves and the world around them.
3.)To introduce theatre and media to those who normally would not have the opportunity to witness / participate in high quality projects.
4.)To give those new to the industry an opportunity to get high quality experience.
These aims are accomplished through the high quality work we produce and the workshops we offer.
What about the 'Not-For Profit' part? Don't you need to make money?
Being a 'not-for-profit' Limited Company means that although, as any business, we try and make profits any profit made is re-invested in the company and does not go to the members or directors.
Overall we aim to produce the highest quality, innovative, exciting work, whether it be productions or workshops in a variety of theatre and non-theatre settings.
